The League of Women Voters of the United States was established in 1920, when the 19th amendment to the Constitution granted women the right to vote.   It evolved from the Women’s Suffrage Movement.  The League of Women Voters of Connecticut (LWVCT) was formed in 1921; the Weston League in 1963.
