BEFORE THE EVENT BEGAN IN EARNEST, LOTS OF WORK TO DO;
SIGN IN, SOCIALIZING - STANDING ROOM ONLY!!!

WE FOUND OUT AT THE END...
Although we were disappointed not to hear directly from Brien
McMahon High School student club to bring public awareness to this
very issue, we understand they had a "must attend" alternative
jaunt.
LWVCT EDUCATION
FUND EVENT - WE SAVE OUR $$ FOR THE CONTENT, SO NO SEPARATE SIGN
MADE FOR ED FUND...
WHO WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN MAKING
THIS VENUE OPEN TO LEAGUE...HEAD OF SCHOOL (R)! (Who will
receive 5 dvd's for the school's use, when they are ready)

THANK GOODNESS FOR STURDY TAPE!
This was a new venue to LWVCT ED FUND - getting set up was almost
as smooth as can be - the event exercised the organizational
skills of a new team - who did brilliantly!
MODERATOR

LWV MEMBER
AND MAJOR VOICE ON ISSUES OF CONSEQUENCE
Pulitzer-prize team winner from the Courant (1998)
Susan Campbell was our most able moderator and posed
penetrating questions herself.
NOTHING
LIKE A PANEL THAT WORKS TOGETHER!!!

THE
PLACE WAS PACKED!
First up was Leonela A. Cruz, Manager of Project Rescue
- Anti-Trafficking Program at the International Insitute
of Connecticut, provided insights into the issue
worldwide and here in the United States.

DEPUTY
SPEAKER RITTER AGREES AS MODERATOR MAKES A POINT...
And a real chance for League to combine some of its positions to
take aim for a lobbying effort in the Short Session upcoming 2014
if legislation emerges on this topic!

NOT A TV
MOVIE CHARACTER...
Special Agent Wendy Bowersox (r) confers with fellow speaker Cruz
prior to opening of meeting to make sure all points were covered.;
WHEN THE F.B.I. SPEAKS (ESPECIALLY
WHEN NOTING THAT THE MOVIE "TAKEN" AND TV SHOWS LIKE N.C.I.S., WE
THINK, ARE DISTORTIONS OF THE ACTUAL SITUATION)

AUDIENCE
Captivated by actually hearing about how government agencies
actually do cooperate!
DCF IN CT

William Rivera of DCF noted that Phoenix,
Arizona is way ahead of everyone else in protecting the rights of
trafficked children.
COULDN'T GET
ENOUGH?
Research
sources here.

And then it was over.
Did we mention
that we think "ConnCAT" stands for "Connecticut Center for Arts
and Technology"
AND
SURELY THE PANEL DID THEIR JOB!!!
